The special assessment for choosing not to participate in a work weekend or failing to sign-out after the full day is increased from $150.00 to $200.00 effective immediately.
While participation in work weekends has continued to decline over the last several years, the amount of necessary maintenance remains steady and costs have increased. The Board of Trustees wants to encourage participation to avoid an increased monthly assessment which would place further financial burden on all members.
Participation in work weekends is required under the By-Laws, Article IX, Section 3:
Two work weekends shall be scheduled annually, one in the spring and one in the fall. A minimum of one person from each Member family is required to work one day at each of the two weekends. The committee shall coordinate tasks to be accomplished and materials to be utilized. Should any Member choose not to participate in a work weekend, they will be fined [$200]; or such other amount as the Board may from time to time determine, which fine shall be a lien on the Members interest and collectable in the same manner as an assessment.
