Frequently Asked Questions

What are the standard Association fees?
Upon purchasing a property within the Association, each member is required to contribute $4,500.00 to the working capital of the organization. Thereafter, the regular assessment is $110.00 per month. Additionally, each member is required to participate in two work weekends per year or pay a $250.00 assessment for each one missed. More information on work weekends can be found under the heading: What are “work weekends” and do I have to attend?
Can I receive my monthly invoice via email and pay online?
Yes. To request this service, please complete the Contact Us form and choose “,Send my invoice via email” as the subject. With email invoices, you will also have the option of paying by direct bank transfer. Simply click the link to “Pay Online.”
What are “work weekends” and do I have to attend?

Work weekends are held each spring and fall. The time is used to open or close the lake, clean up the common areas and perform any required projects or maintenance. Participation helps to reduce costs and keep the monthly assessments low. The Forest Hill Park By-laws require one person over the age of sixteen (16) from each member household to participate. Failure to participate or sign-out after the full day will result in a $250 assessment. If you have a hardship that will prevent you from attending a work weekend, please contact the Board Secretary so that you can appear before the Board and request and exception.

Excerpt from Article IX, Section 3 of the By-Laws:

Two work weekends shall be scheduled annually, one in the spring and one in the fall. A minimum of one person from each Member family is required to work one day at each of the two weekends. The committee shall coordinate tasks to be accomplished and materials to be utilized. Should any Member choose not to participate in a work weekend, they will be fined [$200*]; or such other amount as the Board may from time to time determine, which fine shall be a lien on the Members interest and collectable in the same manner as an assessment. The Committee shall present a report to the Board as to the participants in and accomplishments of the work weekends.

*The Board of Trustees has increased the fine since its inception.

How do I get a copy of the Association By-Laws?
The Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions, By-Laws, and Architectural Control Guidelines are available free of charge in the Membership Information section of this site. Hard copies may be obtained for $25.00 by completing the Contact Us form and selecting “Request a Copy of the By-Laws” as the subject.
Can I attend a Board of Trustees meeting?
The Forest Hill Park Board of Trustees holds its meetings on the third Tuesday of every month unless otherwise noted. Please see the calendar for specific dates and times. All members in good standing are welcome to attend and observe. If you would like to present on a topic or request a hearing from the board, please contact the Board Secretary at 973-846-4025 x500 or complete a contact form and select “Bring a Matter to the Board of Trustees” as the subject. Please note what you would like to discuss. If you are interested in joining the Board, select “Interested in Joining the Board of Trustees” as the subject and tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to join.
Can I host a party at the beach and picnic area?

Yes. Please use the “Reserve the Picnic Area” option. The Secretary will contact you to confirm.  If you are planning on twenty-five (25) guests or more, you must hire a life guard. Please note that the reservation is designed to prevent multiple large parties from occurring on the same day, but individual members may still elect to use the beach and picnic facilities.

Do I need a permit to fish the lake?

Yes. Although the lake is private and only members and their guests may fish there, the state still requires a fishing license for anyone sixteen (16) years of age or older. You can get a license online at the NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife site.

How do I access the Membership Information section?

The Membership Information section is password protected.  Complete the Contact Form and select the subject “Need Membership Information Password.”
