WEST MILFORD — Burglars have struck township homes four times in the past three weeks, police warned.

The burglaries share several traits, West Milford Police said in a press release.

They all struck homes near Route 23, allowing for a quick escape. In three of the four burglaries, the doors were forced open.

They all took place during the day. And in each case, the burglars focused on jewelry and firearms, often bypassing other valuable items, police said.

West Milford Police have identified a suspect vehicle: A black or dark-colored SUV, seen in the area of the latest burglary. They have also increased patrols in residential neighborhoods.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call West Milford Police at (973) 728-2802.
